Guides / How to Make a Bias Chart
Whether you're ranking your top K-pop bias list or building a favorites grid for an anime, a game, or a movie franchise, the process is the same five steps. Here's how to go from a blank grid to a finished PNG you can post.
A bias chart is a grid-style graphic that ranks or showcases your favorite characters, idols, or other picks - popularized by K-pop and anime fandoms for sharing on social media. Instead of writing out a list, you lay your favorites out in a photo grid with a title, so the whole ranking is readable at a glance.
Chart Maker ships with a few starting templates - characters, games, media, and songs - each with a preset color scheme and layout so you're not starting from a blank canvas. Pick the one closest to your topic, or ignore all of them and build your own layout from scratch.
Example: the four built-in template categories, illustrated.
Decide how many picks you want to show, then set the grid's columns and rows to fit. A tight 3x3 grid reads well for a "top picks" post; a 5x5 or larger works for a full group or roster chart. You can also adjust the cell size so the grid fits your aspect ratio of choice. See the grid size guide if you're not sure which to pick.
Click any cell to upload a photo, then pan and zoom it until it's framed exactly how you want. Everything happens in your browser - your photos are never uploaded to a server, so it works entirely offline once the page has loaded.
Set your title and subtitle fonts, pick a color scheme, and add a background pattern - stripes, dots, diamonds, or a grid - with adjustable spacing, size, and opacity. You can also turn on a small text caption under each photo if you want to label your picks by name.
Example: stripe, dot, diagonal, grid, and solid background patterns.
Once your chart looks right, export it as a PNG, or use the share button to post it straight to X. No account or sign-up needed at any point in the process.
